ASUTIL has been developing different types of events since its establishment. The classic annual conference that rotates destinations every year, had its beginning in 1997 and has been growing since then. It has also been the venue where you could find the most prominent agents and key people in the Duty-Free sector. Last year, 2017, we have ended an era, since in Rio de Janerio, same location of its first conference, the last one has taken place in its traditional format.
We are glad to invite you to the 2020 Duty Free & Travel Retail Summit of the Americas, which will be held in Orlando from March 30 to April 2, 2020. This will be the Summit´s second year at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, and the third year of ASUTIL and IAADFS combined effort to present an event which brings together key suppliers, buyers, and other industry stakeholders to meet, network, and conduct business.
Facing a very different reality and returning with a renewed event ASUTIL and CEFSU continue to strongly support the growth of the retail sector at the borders. The border today presents another scenario, new, challenging and at the same time of great impact and magnitude, for which we present our Primer Encuentro de “Border Duty Free Shops” de América Latina, LA FRONTERA HOY. On this occasion, the event will be held in Porto Alegre-Brazil, starting on Monday 4 with the accreditations and ending on Wednesday, November 6. We hope that this event will give new impetus to a key industry in the economic development of today and the future of the region and Uruguay.
ASUTIL is constantly renewing itself and this time it takes its first steps in the world of virtual events. Faced with the current situation of COVID-19 and its multiple negative consequences in the world, ASUTIL faces it as an opportunity to achieve a greater, better and immediate reach with all our partners and followers.
